WHAT IS CLINICAL HYPNOSIS/HYPNOTHERAPY?
"Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness experienced as focused attention and deep physical relaxation. In the form used clinically for behavioral change. The patient remains fully aware of all events and has full memory of what occurs. The goal is to communicate with that part of the mind that controls learned and repetitive behavior, that is, the Subconscious Mind. During Hypnosis, information to meet the patient's specific needs is communicated to the Subconscious Mind, in a language and form that the Subconscious will accept, to reframe and restructure thoughts and beliefs for positive behavior change.
WHAT IS BEHAVIORAL PSYCHOTHERAPY?
It is an efficient, goal-oriented form of psychotherapy that helps individuals change the ways in which they think about themselves, their world, their behavior, their relationships, and their situation so that POSITIVE CHANGE can take place. The duration of therapy is time-limited, typically lasting anywhere between one and fifteen 50-minute sessions. |
